The Caledonian School and Scottish Cultural Centre was set up to teach English in a relevant manner using native speaking teachers to students in the Bulgarian capital. We believe the language should be taught as close as possible to being in a ‘real life’ environment. Our lessons pertain to life in Scotland and other English speaking countries as well as looking at Bulgaria and the wider world.
Centre Director and principal teacher: Bryan Stewart

“Having worked at the British Council, Sofia for seven years, I decided it was time to put my experience into practice. I feel that over this period, I have gained a good insight into what Bulgarian people really look for when they embark upon an English language course. People here want a highly qualified, native speaker teacher and value for money. They also want intelligent lessons and social interaction and that’s why I decided to set this centre up.
I have been teaching for over twenty years and have worked in Bremen, Prague, Tallinn and Greece amongst others. I have seen how to do it and not how to do it during my time, learning from some of the best while discarding the pretentious and irrelevant.
If, having looked over our website, you decide to study here I will ensure that everything stated herein is delivered as promised.”
